How to prevent and detect low self-esteem?
First we need to know what is self esteem:
Self esteem is an opinion you make of yourself. People with good self esteem likes and value themselves by the other hand people with LOW self esteem lack of confidence and aren’t happy nor satisfied with themselves.
How to detect: Usually a person with low self esteem
Critics themselves ALL the time, ignores their positive qualities, they think they are inferior, describe themselves with negative words like: ugly, fat, stupid, etc. Have a self talk that always are negative, blames themselves if anything goes wrong, even if it’s not their FAULT.
How to prevent low self esteem: Talk to yourself positively, challenge negative self-talk, don’t compare yourself to others, acknowledge the positive, appreciate your special qualities, forget the bad things of the past, tell yourself a positive message every day, stop worrying, have fun and exercise to be and feel healthy.
The cause:
Mostly because they hadn’t a nice childhood, or people who have bad grades at school, because they think they are dumb, also because some medical problems like: chronic pain, serious illness, and physical disbailities. Mental illness like anxiety disorder or depression. And because of the BULLYING.
Consequences:
Low self esteem create stress, anxiety, loneliness, and increases depression. It also cause problems with having friends. Also seriously bad academic performance. It also creates a destructive behavor and in the worst case harm themselves and lead to the suicide.
